Plein Air Painting, Anyone?
I’m a fair weather plein air painter. I know that is blasphemy for me to say that as an artist, but it’s true.
In the Beginning
Most children’s first coloring implement is a crayon. Maybe it was for me too. I don’t remember. Instead, my mother tells a very different story. At two years old, she found me, chair pushed up against the kitchen counter. I was standing on top of the counter, drawing pictures on the white cabinets with the #Frenchs mustard.
I’m sure that the bright yellow bottle with the red flag is what attracted me that morning. Today, we’d take out our phones and snap a picture of this moment, posting it all over the internet and rewarding the creativity. But, I feel like I probably wasn’t rewarded for my art piece…in that way.
However, I definitely am a colorist! Hmmm, maybe I have #Frenchs mustard to thank for my first bold color inspired art piece!

With Covid19, we are all in our homes a lot more than usual. And being home more, we look around and see changes we want to make.
