Painting with Glass Enamels on Multiple Layers

Tuesday, Oct. 13 to Friday, Oct. 16, 2026

Special class at Harmony Stained Glass in Texas!

No matter your skill level, from absolute beginner to experienced painter, you’re sure to take your ability to the next level and learn something new in this four day workshop.
We’ll work with Sunshine Enamels, a premium line of enamels made for your amazing glass paintings.
Jody will cover how to properly mix enamels with a binder. She will teach you how to mix colors and values for you to paint on glass, and to fire the enamels in either a watercolor or oil/acrylic method, so that they mature to their brilliant full potential.
Then you’ll take your skills to the next level and learn to create paintings and designs on single and multiple layers from your photographs or drawings. You will be painting on up to 3 layers.  Discussions on How to Begin, Composition, Color Theory, Focal Point and Creating Depth will be covered.
Jody Danner Walker, author of Printmaking Techniques on Glass, will share her secrets including firing and re-firing enamels. She’ll also cover her approach to damming and firing schedules that will minimize bubbles and coldworking.

Pate de Verre Sucré

Thurs., June 10 to Sun., June 13,

 SOLD OUT

Another class is in the process of being scheduled.  If you’re interested, contact me or  wg@warmglass.com to get information.

At last!  After many requests, I am offering a workshop that covers the techniques I use to create the beautiful free-flowing Pate de Verre Sucré sculptures.  Pate de Verre Sucré, so-named because the pieces have a sugar-like texture, rather than the smoother texture more commonly found in Pate de Verre, is a technique that I developed and perfected over many years.

This special workshop will cover every facet of my technique, from creating your own mold to mixing colors to assembling and firing

This is a hands-on class in which students will learn to use existing molds or create their own molds. Experience with basic kiln processes is helpful, but not required.
